Privacy Policy
Your privacy in one line: Reset has no account and no server of its own, and everything about you stays on your device — with one exception: the recipe finder, which you choose to use.
What Reset stores (on your device only)
- Your plan log — the habits you tick and the weight, steps, waist and height you enter — is saved only on your device, in the app's own storage.
- Your food likes and dislikes, meal plans and shopping list are stored on your device.
- With your permission, Reset reads Steps, Active Energy, Weight (Body Mass), Height, Waist, Sleep and Workouts from Apple Health to show your live figures and trends. This is read on your device and shown only to you.
- If you type a weight, you can choose to save it back to Apple Health.
The recipe finder (Spoonacular)
- The recipe finder is optional. It only sends anything when you open it and tap Find recipes or Add ingredients to shopping list.
- When you do, Reset asks Spoonacular (spoonacular.com, a third-party recipe service) for recipes that fit your goal. It sends a per-meal calorie ceiling (worked out from your weight), high-protein and low-carb filters, and the food likes/dislikes you set — as plain ingredient words, for example "chicken" or "mushrooms".
- Reset does not send your name, email, Apple Health data, exact weight, or any identifier. Spoonacular does not receive who you are.
- What Spoonacular does with requests is governed by its own privacy policy and terms. If you never open the recipe finder, nothing is ever sent to it.
The calorie counter (Open Food Facts)
- The calorie counter is optional. To identify a product you can scan its barcode or search by name.
- Scanning uses your camera on this device only to read the barcode. Reset does not take, store or send any photo.
- When you scan or search, Reset sends just the barcode number or your search words to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), a free public food database, to fetch nutrition figures. No name, account or Health data is sent.
- Foods you log are stored only on your device.
The AI coach (Anthropic)
- The AI coach is optional. It only sends anything when you tap “Start a coaching session” and send a message. If you never start a session, nothing is sent.
- When you send a message, Reset sends that message plus a short summary of your current plan — day number, your weight and waist figures and trends, BMI, calorie target and today's intake, habit adherence, fasting plan, and your food likes/dislikes — to Anthropic (anthropic.com), which runs the AI model that replies. This is more of your health information than any other feature sends, so it is strictly opt-in per session.
- Reset does not send your name, email, contact details, or your full Apple Health history — only the summary figures above.
- Anthropic processes coaching messages under its own privacy and usage terms. You can add your own API key in the coach screen (stored only in this device's Keychain).
Photo food logging (Anthropic)
- Optional. When you photograph a meal to log it, that single photo is sent to Anthropic to estimate the foods, calories and macros, then the estimate comes back for you to confirm.
- Reset does not keep the photo after analysis and does not attach your name or identity to it. If you never use photo logging, no photo is sent.
What Reset does not do
- No account, no analytics, no tracking, no cookies, no advertising.
- No third-party SDKs. The only network calls the app makes are the optional Spoonacular recipe requests, Open Food Facts food lookups, and AI coach messages + meal-photo analysis to Anthropic above — each only when you ask for it.
- Your Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never shared or sold.
Your control
- Turn Health access on or off any time in the Apple Health app (Sharing ▸ Apps ▸ Reset) or in iOS Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Health.
- Turn camera access on or off in iOS Settings ▸ Reset.
- Skip the recipe finder, calorie counter and AI coach entirely and nothing leaves your device.
- Export your log or delete all app data from the app's More tab. Deleting the app also removes its stored data.
Reset is not intended for children under 16.
Terms of Use & Health Disclaimer
Not medical advice
Reset provides general wellbeing and educational information about diet, activity and healthy weight loss. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a medical device.
Talk to a professional
Before making significant changes to your diet or exercise — especially if you are pregnant, under 18, have a health condition, or take medication (particularly for diabetes or blood pressure) — consult a qualified healthcare professional. Cutting carbohydrates can change medication needs quickly.
A healthy pace
Aim for around 0.5–0.75 kg per week. Do not use Reset to pursue extreme restriction. If you have or suspect an eating disorder, please seek professional support rather than using this app.
Recipes & food data from third parties
Recipes, nutrition figures and prices in the recipe finder come from Spoonacular, and barcode/food nutrition in the calorie counter comes from Open Food Facts. Both are third-party services and their figures are estimates that may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Prices are converted to euro at an approximate rate and shown per serving as a rough guide only. Always check ingredients and labels yourself for allergens and suitability. Reset does not endorse or control third-party content.
The AI coach is not medical advice
The AI coach gives general wellbeing guidance generated by a third-party AI model (Anthropic). It can be wrong or incomplete, it is not a healthcare professional, and it must not be relied on for medical, diagnostic or medication decisions. Always check anything important with a qualified professional. Do not use the coach in an emergency — contact your local emergency services.
No warranty / liability
Reset is provided "as is", without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss or harm arising from use of the app. You use it at your own risk and remain responsible for your own health decisions.
